The LHBE is simply a place where locked bloggers who have informative, photo filled journeys of their lock "process" can be found. Bloggers here have positive, but real stories of their journeys, some from day 1. It is meant to be a central location where many blog stories focusing on locks, be they Traditional, Freeform, Sisterlocks, Braidlocs, Palm Roll, Two-strand Twisted, etc. are easily located. Enjoy the journey stories. Do not copy photos without owner's permission.
Name is Sheila and I started the Sisterlocks journey on August 18, 2009. It took a total of three days to have them installed. I’m so blessed and happy that I decided to have Sisterlocks.
Hello All! I am Roneshia from the lovely Detroit, MI. I have always been a fan of locks but was too afraid to get them. Afraid Of what people will think of me or how I would be accepted. That all changed the summer of 2008 at a friends party when a young girl entered the room with the most beautiful head of locks I have ever seen on a person. As I interrogated her she informed me that they were sisterlocks and suggested that I stop perming my hair. I did and I haven't looked back since. So here I am a year later. My beautiful sisterlocks were installed on 8-25-2009 and I will never forget it. Come follow me on my motiv8on for true beauty. Much love and God Bless. ~MzMotiv8on
Hi all! I started my locs and maintained them myself. No professional or anyone to really guide me. Therefore, I have learned a lot! I get a lot of compliments on my hair and talk to people until I'm out of breath about how to upkeep their locs. Well, there are times where I felt I was missing something or left out a few details. It didn't dawn on me until now (July 2009) to write a blog. So here I am… To write about something that I am passionate about: my lovely locs. December 2009 marks the three years on my journey!
The sidebar under “categories” are links to my other blogs regarding that subject. I welcome you and your comments to my blog and hopefully start a wonderful friendship with you!
In my quest for better health, over a year ago I finally considered going natural. I was seriously contemplating dreads but while looking into it, I stumbled across Sisterlocks a number of months into my search. Once the decision was made, a new phase of my hair life began. Goodbye to bad hair days people! My babes were born on June 21, 2008.
[update August 12, 2010] Hey y'all,
I haven't updated here on the exchange since just after my install in '08, so I thought I would post one of the recent videos from my blog.
Be encouraged,
DL

Hello everyone.
I've been sisterlocked since February 3, 2008 and I'm lovin' it.
Thank you, Maryee, for this blog exchange. Each blogger is part of a wonderful support system for sisters who may be flirting with the idea of getting locs.
After 10 years of wearing my hair natural, I fell off the wagon a few years ago, but I am happy to be in back in recovery.
When I went natural the first time, locs were not a consideration. Locs didn't even cross my mind. But this go round, it didn't take me much time to realize that locs are for me.
I am being watched, as are many of us! At work and by friends and acquaintances, many who are natural, but bored with their hair. Many who are considering weave or a press and curl, just to change it up a bit...But now they are watching, waiting and hopeful!
I am so pleased to be part of this blog. I have researched and over-researched sisterlocks and now finally have them, which is in part due to the influence of blog stories from the L.H.B.E.
I hail all the way from the U.K. and have had sisterlocks since 29th July 2007. Come and enjoy my blog as I have enjoyed yours!
Hello Everyone, My name is Shawna a.k.a. Cocoanaps. I feel so blessed to be included in such an inspirational group of people. When I first discovered the LHBE I would visit it multiple times a day for information, ideas, and encouragement. Since then I have started Sisterlocks 2-8-07, rocked them for 6 months, and as of 7-29-07 decided to convert back to Traditional Locks my "First Love". Locking really is a journey of Self Discovery and it helps to have a few good guides along the way. Thank God and Maryee for the LHBE. Please visit my Blog http://www.gettinglocdandglad.blogspot.com/ Read, enjoy, leave a comment or two if you please. Be Blessed! Cocoanaps:)
