I love my Sisterlocks! Hair is such an intensely personal symbol. Growing Sisterlocks has made me more comfortable with my natural beauty and has taught me patience. I began my Sisterlocks in 2000. I had about four inches of relaxed hair and only half an inch of natural hair to work with. My hair locked after about six months, but I kept my relaxed hair for about a year before I chopped it off. I was so glad to see it go! I haven't looked back since. Locking my hair is the most wonderful, freeing thing I've ever done for myself! My husband even has Brotherlocks!
