Braidlocs in Africa

Hi everyone. Over the week of July 16 2008, I installed my braidlocs myself. If it wasn't for everyone else's blogs on here, I'd probably have never gone this route. Thank you for inspiring me, and I hope my journey will also inspire someone else who has no choice but to go the DIY route. I started with 1cm of natural hair and a LOT of processed hair whuich I eventually cut off. To all the Bloggers out there, please don't stop blogging, it really helps beginners...and people like me who are addicted to reading!

See you in the blogosphere,

Thandi

Rchgrl's Journey

I's locked now ladies!!!! My babies were born June 24th & 25th. What a day it was. I woke up one morning and said enough is enough. I was going natural. I viewed many sisterlock blogs before that day arrived. Stalked is what my sisters' called it but I had fun doing it and I obtained alot of knowledge and information so thanks ladies for sharing your journey. I knew I wanted locks because my sister had already had them for years and I had watched hers grow into the beautiful state they are in now but I will let her tell her story at happi2bnappi.blogspot.com I'm looking forward to sharing my journey with you guys. Thanks Maryee for allowing me the opportunity.

happi2bnappi

I woke up one day and fell in love w/ myself. We say we love ourselves, but do you remember the moment you fell in love w/ yourself. For me it was February 2004 in Philadelphia, PA @ about 2:00 in the AM, sitting in a braid shop on South Street. Even though I had "kinky" hair added in to give me the look of nappy twist, that moment when i saw myself...that way... did something to me. From that point I realized I never wanted to chemically treat my hair again. I wanted me in the most natural state. Thus, the journey began. (January 2005)

Queen Nat's Locs

Greetings to all!

I joined the Sisterlocks family on March 18, 2008. I tried traditional locks first, but it wasn't working for me. So I took the plunge with Sisterlocks and, ooohhh I like, I like!!! Thanks to Maryee for creating this incredible community of LHBE! Please stop by and take a look at my blog. Comments are welcome!

Brownsuga Here!

Hello everyone! My braidlocs were born after three days of labor but joyfully were welcomed here on March 6th, 2008. I haven't looked back since. I'm embracing my locs...my individual locs....they make me feel so natural! I'ts all me!!!! Nothing added and nothing taken away. Let me tell ya the process wasn't easy but it was worth it, being that I did the braiding myself. If you haven't guessed already, I'm a DIYer. I also maintain them myself by latch-hooking. Feel free to walk with me on this journey by visiting my blog http://mylocsjourney.blogspot.com .

Euphoria's Sisterlocks

I am so excited to be apart of this amazing group of people that have decided to be naturally beautiful, I started my sisterlocks journey June 19, 2008 and I am loving every minute of my hair, my only regret is not getting my sisterlocks earlier and educating myself on the different types of locks before settling on traditional locks in the past, which were not for me. I chose the name Euphoria, which means a feeling of well being and that's what my locks do for me, so please check out my blog and feel free to leave comments. http://www.yooforea.blogspot.com/
